Manchester Street Training 12th September - Back in town!

his Saturday's Street Training is a pretty special one! Not only is it the last of the exhibition, but it will be hosted by artist and Street Training originator - Lottie Child.

For those of you who joined Street Training recently, this is your chance to explore Street Training more thoroughly. Lottie will be on hand to explain her practice and introduce you to techniques she has developed with Street Trainers from all over the globe.

In short, its sure to be interesting, enlightening and most of all - fun!!

Here are recently suggested Street Training techniques from the kids on Sceaux gardens Estate Camberwell
Hand bag throwing
Do a dance routine in the street
Stand on a gate and use it to swing on
Squeeze through gaps in railings
When you see a lift press the call button and when it arrives send it to the top floor and race it up the stairs
Jump backwards down the stairs
Stand on low railings and try to balance while you are holding a box of fried chicken
When there is bright sunshine do shadow boxing or dance with your shadow
Lift your friend up so they can climb up things

Street Training was on BBC radio for the second time. Today Lottie Child was on the Robert Elms Show, BBC London 94.9 fm talking about The Sceaux Street Training Team, a group of young people from the Sceaux Gardens estate in Camberwell who are preparing to train Policy makers and law enforcers in how to have more fun in the streets. As Street Training continues to explore the ever shifting boundaries between creative and antisocial behaviour. listen here

The next Street Training session will take place in Manchester as part of the City as Gymnasium Exhibition, come along and share the joyful, playful things you do to keep yourself sane, make yourself laugh, interact with your surroundings and other people. went to the 'antifreeze' art fair today and taught my friends the principles of street training! at first they giggled at my usual jumping and climbing, but as i talked about what i had done at the sessions they were getting the idea and was joining in :D

on the way back from antifreeze i saw a pathway called 'paradise walk' and said 'do you think it's paradise walking along there?' they said they didnt know and said we should see ^_^ and as you can see from chrissys face, it was!
