Aldgate trespass

The route of the aldgate/spitalfields session visits an 'empty' lot where rough sleepers live, its full of budliah and it's an interesting spot. I want to be sensitive when we go there and respect the people who use it. So to me this means not chalking it on the inside and not marking the entrance or drawing attention to it so that casual passers by might be tempted to go inside.

what do people think?

Re: Aldgate tresspass

It's a fascinating space and we shouldn't be deterred from visiting it - especially with new comers. I agree that overtly marking the entrance should be avoided (eg on my first visit it was chalked with big arrows and 'COME INSIDE!') as this takes away from the secrecy as well as it's function as a home/hiding place.

However once inside I wouldn't say that marking it is automatically disrespectful. It isn't owned by any one person, so discreet markings shouldn't be too bad so long as they are done with the people who use it in mind. Poetry and chocolate bars may even be appreciated.
