My interest in Street Training

So far...I have embraced round things, discovered fresh unseen parts of Manchester I have never encountered before, and I am beginning to learn how to really push my physical capabilities.

I am really interested in the idea and relationsip between the concept of nostalgia and psychogeography. How ones space can spark recollection and ways in which this happens by navigating the city, how those memories can change that space forever. Anyone else have any thoughts?

'low impact' parkour e.g. building bridges across railings, crossing invisible barriers, climbing things! creating noise, creating shapes, looking at details, sitting, balancing, dancing, piling, falling... yeah everything!

street training has shown me i do all the joyful things naturally, and is inspiring me to push myself physically and mentally to do more- break the barriers of the city.
iv met amazing people who i have seen grow over the sessions, and i hope they have seen me grow too. i hope we carry on using the city as a playful toy, creating colour and wonder in a grey urban landscape, and that we can show people that it's not strange to dance down the street, sing to yourself, or stop and smell the flowers (or the smelly corner if you so choose!)

activate the city and it will work for you- think of the futureheads 'city is here for you to use'

'these are the things that make it better
are you ready for the city?
is the city ready for you?
dont you know you have to choose?
the city is here for you to use!'

fine art graduate, i volunteer a lot. there are so many things i have enjoyed volunteering for i still don't know what i want to do forever! hopefully something to incorporate my work (which is also my play!)

i love the city and all its details. i particularly love the graffiti, the street stickers, the small protests, people interacting with each other, the 'help points' ^_~ colours and sounds, round things, walking and talking with people i love and care about, pointing out things we notice.

I'm curious

I'm interested in linking Street Training with loitering - 'loitering with intent to make Manchester wonderful, because the city is our playground'

Part of Manchester Street Training group with CUBE gallery.

I'm only on session one. Good fun, but still a lot to learn I think!

Very little until Lottie informed me of her project. Basically, my hands follow a beat of their own whether it is making waves, playing imaginary pianos or shooting fireballs; my hands can't stop moving when I am walking about.

I live in Panama but will soon be splitting time between NYC, Paris and Buenos Aires.

quiero mostrar en streettraining como el contacto hace la vida.
i want to show how street training can improve contact between people.

yo soy atriz, me gusta bailar, cantar y jugar...pero no me gusta hacerlo sola, y si junto a otros.

I have been working with Aileen and Lottie to build this website. We are thinking about how to translate some of the ideas and approaches of Street Training in physical space into online space. What would the paths of Safety and Joy look and feel like online?

I have been working on subtle street interventions for afew years now. My latest work has been commemorating small insignificant happenings of everyday life in the streets by putting up a small etched steel plaque. They are always placed below eye level and quickly rust, falling into their surroundings. Because of their discreet nature, they are not to be sort out but to be stumbled upon by chance.

i like street taining

my name is gafar and i am 10

I have been involved with the strret traning sessions at Tate Britain, and it's lead up event.

I wish to extend/ emphasise the spontaneity
of street training and explore the idea of architectual and rules and regulations that restricted ones behaviour and our society.

I am involved via tate forum. i want to make the world sparkel a bit more and emoty giant bags of glitter all over the street.

I am studying Fine Art at the moment and my work is pretty much about the human being, the human body and human emotions. I enjoy exploring human reactions and personal conflicts people are faced with in everyday life. I work mainly with performance ,drawing and painting as well. I also enjoy exploring photography and photographic processes. i'm interested in street training for the way in which you interact with the public, in a sense that you are proactive to achieve your goals. Your idea of working with youth groups who are at "risk of offending" is also not only interesting but important and overlooked as well. Not many people would waste time chatting to young men who are considered criminals. Your work seems to be very much about Art itself, that is, you enjoy working directly with galleries and Art education and that's fascinating!
